Welcome again, reader. Lets face it, we all want to smell good, and we all know that smelling good is one of the greatest indicators of a healthy and clean lifestyle, and that’s why so much emphasis is placed on smelling good for both men and women. First of all, smelling good indicates to other people that you are a person who loves yourself and takes care of yourself, and also unconsciously signals to other people how they should perceive you. Along with How you dress It’s one of the best ways to make a great first impression, because simply just smelling good will put you ahead of others who don’t even put in the effort. I have listed 7 of the best smell good hacks to make smelling good not just something you do when you step out of your house, but a lifestyle you can follow and subconsciously become a person who generally smells good.
1. Use Deodorant to smell good
Let’s start with this: guys, please use deodorant. As cliché as this sounds, this is the first step everyone should be taking to smell good, and as a general rule of thumb, it should be the bare minimum everyone should be doing. Using deodorant is effective in blocking out sweat and the odor produced by your body for up to 18-24 hours, depending on the brand you’re using. Also, use deodorants that amplify your natural body scent. Your deodorant should be your prima facie after your shower; it sets the tone for the day, because ignoring this step will allow sweat and body odor to build up during the day, which could counteract the other tips on this list. So use deodorant… please 😊
2. Use scented lotions to smell good
Now, a lot of people aren’t a fan of scented lotions, and I get it: a lot of big manufacturing companies hide the dangerous chemicals they create these fragrance lotions with behind the term “fragrance”. However, there are definitely ways to improve your skin scent with organic lotions that contain naturally occurring scents. These scented lotions will keep you smelling fresh throughout the day, and may sometimes even be used on some days when you prefer not to apply a fragrance.
3. Invest in high-quality fragrances to smell good
I’ve preached about this before in some of my other posts. I want you to invest in high-quality fragrances and perfumes; investing in high-quality perfumes like Giorgio Armani, Dolce & Gabbana will up your scent game to another level. If you think about it, most people aren’t even investing in fragrances and colognes at all, while some go to their cheap local dollar store and grab the cheapest bottle. These scents don’t last and wear out before you even leave your house, or if not, it’s very evident that these scents are cheap when others smell them. Now don’t get me wrong: I’m not saying cheap scents are bad or terrible, but I’m just saying investing in one high-quality fragrance will set you apart from the rest of the pack, and you’re going to have a bottle that is consistent, meaning you’re getting the same result for scent every time you put it on and make a great impression each time. 4. Skip reapplying your fragrance with lotions or petroleum jelly
Skip reapplying with lotion or petroleum jelly before applying your fragrances. Generally, most fragrances have a scent span of 2-3 hours before their scent wears out, depending on their concentration. But a study found that applying a thin base of petroleum jelly on your skin before applying your perfume will make your fragrance last longer throughout the day, keeping you smelling good.
5. Keep your clothes fresh and washed to smell good
Now just like keeping our skin smelling great, it’s all about maximizing our overall scents, and the clothes we wear also greatly determine what we smell like throughout the day. Recycling clothes we wore the previous day can leave a bad stench on our overall scent if they were able to accumulate enough of our natural body scent; so as a general rule of thumb, try not to recycle clothes more than twice a week. Also find a good detergent that will give your clothes a nice clean scent and not conflict with the fragrances you’ve picked up.
6. Keep your sheets fresh.
Another rule of thumb I like to follow is keeping your sheets fresh and scented, Its as easy as applying 2-3 drops of your favorite essential oil into the wash to give your sheets a nice smell. Some great carrier oil for this purpose are lavender cedarwood and even geranim which come packed with strong heath benefits as well .So it’s important to hop in bed after taking your night showers so that the scents from your sheets will naturally stick to your clean skin at night as you sleep leaving you smelling good even when you wake up
